Prior to this, in 2010, EMC Israel (later absorbed into Dell via the 2016 Dell-EMC merger) won a tender valued at approximately $300 million to supply storage systems, backup systems, and software to the Israeli military, reportedly funded through US aid funds 12. During Dell’s ownership period, VMware secured a contract with the Israeli Ministry of Defence valued at approximately NIS 100 million ($27 million) for virtualisation infrastructure, with the agreement reportedly permitting use “for all new and future technological projects almost without limitation,” inclusive of licensing, assimilation, and training 2. While under Dell corporate ownership, VMware Israel also secured a contract to supply the Israel Police with products through January 2027 3. In July 2024, Dell Technologies sponsored and participated in the “IT For IDF” conference, which focused on ICT for operational and combat support systems, held during the active Gaza offensive 1.
