Product Origin, Labeling & Regulatory Compliance

Google’s mapping products document the geographic and cartographic treatment of Israeli settlements and Palestinian territories. Google Maps systematically omits Palestinian villages while displaying Israeli settlements in the West Bank 1. Google Maps displays settlements including Ma’ale Adumim, Ariel, Modi’in Illit, Beitar Illit, and Har Homa (East Jerusalem) with Israeli postal codes 1. Google Maps provides routing for Israeli settlers on West Bank bypass roads that are inaccessible to Palestinian residents 1. Google Street View coverage is present in Israeli settlements but significantly reduced or absent in Palestinian villages in Area B and Area C 1.

Google Hotels surfaces accommodation listings within Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem without geographic or legal disclosure distinguishing them from Israeli sovereign territory 2.

The Google Play Store is fully operational in Israeli settlements. Google completed the acquisition of Israeli cybersecurity company Wiz in March 2026 for $32 billion — the largest-ever exit in Israeli technology history 4. The four co-founders of Wiz are all veterans of IDF Unit 8200 4. CapitalG (Alphabet’s growth equity fund) led a $140 million Series D investment in Salt Security (Israeli API cybersecurity startup) in 2022, valuing the company at $1.4 billion 5. Salt Security’s founders are IDF veterans 5. Google participated in AI21 Labs’ $155 million Series C funding round in August 2023 6. Google also participated in AI21 Labs’ $300 million Series D funding round in May 2025 6.

Google Cloud launched the me-west1 region in Tel Aviv in November 2022 7. Google maintains R&D facilities in Tel Aviv and Haifa employing approximately 2,000 engineers as of 2024 8. Following the Wiz acquisition, Google employs approximately 2,900 people in Israel 8. Google has secured a lease for 60,000 square meters in ToHa 2 tower in Tel Aviv, commencing in January 2027 at approximately ILS 115 million per year, reported as Israel’s largest office rental deal 8.

Operational Presence & Market Activity

Google Israel Ltd. is the registered Israeli entity for commercial and R&D operations 8. Google Cloud Israel Ltd. is the registered Israeli entity for cloud business operations 8. Google’s current Israeli headquarters is located at Electra Tower, Yigal Alon St 98, Tel Aviv 8. Google will relocate to ToHa 2 tower in Tel Aviv from January 2027 8.

Project Nimbus is a $1.2 billion cloud and AI services contract awarded to Google and AWS by the Israeli government (Ministry of Finance and Israeli Defense Ministry) in April 2021 9. The contract covers cloud migration for Israeli government ministries, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), and affiliated state bodies 9. The Israeli Ministry of Defense has its own “landing zone” into Google Cloud and sought to expand access for “multiple units” to automation technologies 10. Project Nimbus includes weapons manufacturers Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), and Elta as mandatory customers 11. As of the latest available reporting (through early 2026), Project Nimbus remains active with no public announcement of suspension or wind-down 2.

The IDF accessed Vertex AI for military operations post-October 2023 12. In November 2024, internal Google documents showed IDF requesting Gemini AI access for processing documents and audio 13.

Corporate Structure & Foundational Ties

Google was founded in September 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin at Stanford University in California and is incorporated in Delaware. Alphabet Inc. is legally domiciled in Delaware and operationally headquartered in Mountain View, California, USA. Google Israel Ltd. and Google Cloud Israel Ltd. are registered subsidiaries within Israeli jurisdiction. The UN Special Rapporteur report (A/HRC/59/23, June 2025) names Google among 48 corporate actors providing material infrastructure enabling Israeli military operations 14. The Settlement Division of the World Zionist Organization is documented as a Project Nimbus customer 2. Google facilitates employee donation matching to Friends of the Israeli Defense Forces (FIDF) and HaYovel (a Christian Zionist organization operating in Israeli settlements) via the Benevity platform 15.

Wiz Inc. (acquired March 2026) has approximately 900 employees in Israel, with all four co-founders being Unit 8200 veterans 4. Waze, acquired by Google in 2013, retains its Israeli development team post-acquisition. Mandiant (acquired September 2022) has documented relationships with the Israeli National Cyber Directorate.

Profit Repatriation & Economic Contribution

No country-level revenue figure for Israel has been publicly disclosed by Alphabet in its SEC filings. Project Nimbus internal projections suggested $3.3 billion in Israeli cloud revenue from 2023 to 2027 12. Google/Alphabet is assessed by Israeli industry as a critical anchor for the Israeli high-tech ecosystem, ranking among the top two employers in Israel in 2025 and serving as the largest-ever acquirer of an Israeli startup 8. The UN Special Rapporteur report explicitly identifies Google, along with Microsoft, Amazon, HP, IBM, and Palantir, as corporate actors enabling Israel’s “economy of occupation to economy of genocide” through cloud and AI technology provision 14.

In April 2024, approximately 50 Google employees staged sit-in protests at Google offices in New York and Sunnyvale, protesting Project Nimbus 16. Google fired 28 employees in direct connection with the protests 16. Workers filed unfair labor practice charges with the NLRB (Cases 16-CA-337641 and 16-CA-335911) 17. The NLRB has lacked quorum since early 2025, affecting case resolution 17.

Proposal 9, a shareholder resolution requesting a due diligence report on Alphabet’s customer use in conflict-affected areas, received approximately 4.5% support in 2025 18. A similar resolution (Proposal 11) was filed by Zevin Asset Management in 2026 19.

Project Nimbus confirmed continuing operations post-19 July 2024 (ICJ Advisory Opinion) and post-November 2024 (ICC arrest warrants) 2. The Wiz acquisition was announced on 18 July 2024 (one day pre-ICJ AO) and completed in March 2026 (post-ICC warrants) 4. The ToHa 2 lease was signed approximately in June–July 2024, with a forward commitment extending to 2027 8.
