Toyota’s 2025 Form 20-F categorizes regional operations as “Japan,” “North America,” “Europe,” “Asia,” and “Other” (comprising Central and South America, Oceania, Africa, and the Middle East), with Israel falling within “Other” and no separate disclosure 2.

The September 2025 database update document has been identified, though Toyota’s specific listing status within the updated document requires direct verification against the full annexed company list 6.

Union Motors Ltd. (יוניון מוטורס בע”מ), established in 1991, is the sole authorized distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Israel 89.

Union Motors is a private Israeli entity fully owned by George Horesh, registered at 2 Hayozma, Rishon LeZion, Israel (company registration #511487761) 910.

Union Motors operates 33 to 35 authorized retail outlets throughout Israel, including Toyota Towers at 67 Yigal Alon Street, Tel Aviv 8.

The current CEO of Union Motors (Union Automotive Group) is Ran Danai, who has held the position since 2018 and previously served as Managing Director of Toyota Israel from 2011 to 2018 8.

Internal Governance, Content & Retail Policies

Union Motors operates “Toyota Good Wheel” community projects and the “Israel Earth Prize” program, which awards NIS 1 million annually 1112.

Israel Earth Prize winners include Venatata (environmental initiative, 2023) and Friends for Health (medication redistribution nonprofit, 2024) 11.

Brand Heritage & State Partnerships

Toyota Hilux and Land Cruiser commercial pickup and SUV platforms are converted by MDT Armor Corporation (a US subsidiary of Israeli defense company Shladot Ltd.) into the David Urban Light Armored Vehicle, which serves as the IDF’s standard patrol and reconnaissance armored vehicle 341617.

MDT Armor’s product page states that the David is “based on Toyota components” and that “Toyota platforms ensure widespread support and cost-effective maintenance” 16.

MDT Armor markets itself as “the sole source for the IDF for its standard armored patrol vehicle” 16.

The David vehicle entered IDF service in 2018, and over 1,000 have been delivered as of January 2026 181719.

The 1,000th David vehicle rollout ceremony in January 2026 was attended by Israel’s Ambassador to the United States and U.S. Congressman Mike Rogers 1819.

David vehicles built on Toyota platforms are documented as used by the IDF in the occupied West Bank for settlement protection, military base patrols, home demolitions, and civilian movement restrictions; in the Gaza Strip; and in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights 34.

Shireen Abu Akleh (Al Jazeera correspondent, Palestinian-American) was shot and killed on May 11, 2022, in Jenin, occupied West Bank 5.

Shots were fired directly at a group of journalists from a gunport in a Toyota-based MDT David vehicle, striking Abu Akleh in the head, and multiple independent investigations including UN OHCHR, Forensic Architecture/Al-Haq, NY Times, and CNN confirmed IDF fire from the David vehicle position 345.

In November 2023, Israeli military used David armored vehicles to block a Palestine Red Crescent Society ambulance at Tulkarm Refugee Camp and to attack Palestinian youth at the Zaatara checkpoint near Nablus 4.
